We have had the possibility to meet "Hurtopravtsi" and their projects for several times. And I must admit that each time it was something special, interesting and - of high quality. The point is not that their discs contain traditional music of different regions of Ukraine. And not that "Hurtopravtsi" revive and present not arranged, but authentic folk singing to listeners. Moreover, it is not that one may find songs for any possible occasion, and it is not in technical aspects either, though everything is all right with them. No, it is not that. A real quality shows itself in the atmosphere and in a correct mood. When you hear, or feel, that the songs are performed with spirit, from the depth of the heart, then everything is all right. "Hurtopravtsi" sing exactly this way, correctly. May be, I say all that not for the first time – and I think, not for the last time, either.

A "Psal'ma" is a folk song with a religious meaning or content. On this disc the Kyiv folk group "Bozhychi" features a series of ancient Ukrainian psal'ms, recording in the course of several folk expeditions to the eastern part of Ukraine – the Dnipropetrovs'k, Donets'k, Luhans'k and Kharkiv regions. These songs are played without additional editing, in a manner inherent to folk singers.
