Videyko Mykhaylo. Ukraine: from Ants to Rus.

"The first five centuries of history of the Middle Ages, from the 5th till the 10th  century, even for the part of Europe where isles of the past intelligence of ancient times were preserved, some chronicles and records were maintained, are often referred to as "dark ages". What can then be said about our Land! However, there is still a certain opportunity to plunge into the depths of history.

Quite a lot of interesting episodes and even details from life during these the "darkest ages" in history of the land that is currently named Ukraine were revealed due to field archaeological researches during the recent one hundred and fifty years. From year to year dozens of expeditions search and find in this land traces of past epochs and events. From reports of ancient chronicles and manuscripts, as well as archaeological findings, the colorful mosaic of our Land's history is created.

In the book "From Ants to Rus", which has become a continuation of the story initiated in the publication "From Trypillya to Ants", separate episodes of ancient history are represented covering the period from appearance of Ants on the historical arena (the last quarter of the 4th century) to appearance of Rus with the capital in Kyiv (9th century).
