Chmyhov Mykola. From the Raytse Egg to the Idea of the Savior: Monograph.

"And an egg fell out from the bosom and split apart having hit a stone!.. And then cattle started going out from that egg – cows, and sheep, and goats!" This is how a Ukrainian folktale represents the myth about the split golden world egg, from which the Universe, as well as everything living, appeared. Created as long ago as by ancestors of Slavs, this myth is only one out of the tales of the worldview system of ancient Indo-Europeans, which realized the integrity and, at the same time, – the tragic distortion of harmony in life. Hence – the aspiration to overcome the split between forces of the world and those of the human, which is implemented in the idea of the Savior characteristic of the majority of high religions, especially in Christianity...

The book restores the eternal quest for resolution of the question about the place and role of humanity in life of the Universe. Specific features of mutual influences of the society and the environment in ancient times, forming one of the most ancient systems of the worldview and its peak – cosmology – are analyzed. The author suggests original concepts of defining the ancient motherland of Indo-Europeans and their component part – ancestors of Slavs, offers a description of key features of paganism in Rus. The research is based on materials of archaeology, ethnography, mythology, philosophical schools, astronomy.
