A powerful tenderness – may be, the first characteristic, the first impression was like that. I think, here it would be appropriate to say something about the quality of this music, about the qualitative attitude. Christmas songs, shchedrivki and Ukrainian folk songs are recorded at this disc. At that, the list of titles in general does not impress at all – we have heard these songs more than once. Still, in this particular case it is not a drawback, on the contrary – it emphasises the quality itself and the completion of performance. It looks as if it were not so difficult to sing a song well, but to sing a well-known song in such a way that the attention will be turned to you from the very first moment – it is already the skill. Moreover, the singing is not only beautiful, but saturated with something that encourages wonderful definitions, which not always blend with language conventionalities, and this is a real quality. That is why I will not describe my impressions – I am not in a mood for going into paradoxes. The only thing I am going to say is that at this disc everything is so much simple as difficult and gentle. Having some experience of listening to music of such kind, personally I was surprised by the quantity and variety of waves, associations, images caused exactly by this performance. The performance, which is not only good, but also interesting, and, which is more pleasant, at the end of this disc it is as interesting as at its beginning.
