Molotov 20. Korali. The modern treatment of traditional Ukrainian folkmusik. /digi-pack/ | | Track Reviews (4) |

I do not know if this disc will become an unexpectedness for you, but I know for sure that for me it is a part of that movement for which I have been waiting for a long time. I mean, being a city-dweller and an average person, I cannot listen to an authentic singing, for example, for quite a long time. I can listen to it only for a short period of time, though I wish I could do that longer as I find it to be very interesting. But unfortunately I lack patience as I need not only voice melodies, but also more or less complicated rhythms and some additional melodious lines. I would like to hear an organic interweaving of old and new melodies, sensible eclecticism and universality. I would like the language of music to be understandable irrespective of social and aesthetic stereotypes, in which a person has been brought-up. One may certainly say that the language of music is universal and understandable for everybody. It’s true. But when we are talking about the roots, about the interpretation of something old with the help of modern means, we’d rather prefer there were no primitiveness and vulgarity in that. That’s why it is very good that the projects like this one appear, because it is search and movement. Sometimes it is more successful, sometimes it is not so successful. Still the search is taking place. Let’s watch it go on. Anton Jozhik Leyba (Hedgehog)

If music of the album were not interesting, even then this release would be worth buying – for the sake of the booklet, because it is a separate transparent trip. However, we a lucky – the music also opens for us something new indeed. Or, maybe, you know other works in the style of "Carpathians new-age with elements of ethnic jazz"?

I listened to it in a transparent evening, listened at the crazy three o'clock in the morning, listened during a lazy siesta – this music fits everything, as the aroma of truly fresh tea fits clear thoughts. About such music, it is necessary to write not words, but pictures – and preferably four-dimension one...

They strikingly harmoniously combine clear sorrow, sadness – with joy as clear. And that is why there is inside always a place left for light. Usually, children have this ability – and it does not matter how old they are...

The trip in store for us is blue-eyed, smooth and deep, so get into the corresponding mood. Electronic patterns, archaic singing and the noise of water – that is external surroundings, only the three basic elements. But the internal content is virtually boundless.

The project, actually, appeared as far back as a few years ago – but it is lately that the concept has completed its final transformations, reincarnations, and now it is already somewhat new music. Not only in relation to itself, but also in relation to modern Ukrainian music in general – it seems that Dazzle Dreams are currently the only ones in Ukraine who play synthi-pop but with expressive, bright elements of ethno-lounge.
