Stop! It is intolerable to disregard this music. So, attention, please! There’s in front of you a reedition of the first album of the group – and it is not only pleasant to hold this disc in hands, but it is also worth doing that. Even if you don’t know, which music it carries. You should simply take a cover, slowly study it, read free verses published on a loose leaf. A feeling of gentle and filigree quality appears with you in advance. And a feeling of authenticity. Believe me, this presentiment will come true more than at one hundred percent. Because the music of this album is not simply music. It is something expressive and colourful – but it is not a picture, it is not paints. It is something deeper, something transparent. Only natural things can be like that – the sea in any weather, a streamlet somewhere in the mountains, the eyes of a horse or a deer, a green greeting of an old willow, a smile of an infant … only those things that can live may be like that …And alive ones … "Gabrielius" is more than jazz. One may hear inexpressible roots of North and West mixed with fervent rhythms of the South and patterned delicacy of the East. Is it ethno-jazz? Not only that. Not only folk roots, but also contemporaneity and modern language, as well as the face of our whole multi-coloured and multi-faced planet, can be found in this stream. It is impossible to listen to this music once or twice and then to forget. You will keep turning to it again and again. Of course, I don’t guarantee that. But – I hope sincerely. Anton Jozhik Lejba (Hedgehog) Alexei Alexandrov – recorders, piano Viktor Krisko – violin (1-4,6) Andrei Chugujevets – acoustic guitar, domra, bayan Viktor Melezhyk – saxophone (1-3,6) Sergei Khmelev – vibraphone, marimba (4,6) Dmitriy Solovjov – saxophone (3) Vladimir Sorochenko – bass-guitar Alexander Beregovsky – vibraphone, china gongs, percussion, bongo, congo, drums Oleg dr. Kobtsev – vocal, percussion

If we begin from the end, we could do it so: this is a wonderful, heartfelt, clear, high-quality album – and at present this is the best album in the reserve of Anno Domini. All previous experience, all best qualities acquired new depth here, started shining with new colors. And if we begin from the beginning...

Yes, in this music you can still hear well the hot southern sun – but still, on the foreground, you have original cool elegance. And one can feel based on which law the space of the disc is designed: rather not to satiate, but to extend this space as much as possible – but softly.

...the album at once creates elated, festive mood – but in a surprising way. In the correct way. Because, although about a half of the compositions can hardly be called merry ones – a smile is very expressly felt in them. Somewhere dim, somewhere transparent, somewhere dreamy, somewhere thoughtful – but it is present in each piece, and it warms.

It seems to me that none who has at least once heard performance by Motion Trio – and the more so none who has seen it – will ever forget, mix it up with anybody. And the thing is not only original composition – although you will hardly find among performers of jazz, art rock, folk fusion another trio what would consist exceptionally of accordions.

It is great pleasure – to listen to music that has let in, changed, satiated and breathed out so many bright impressions, lives, root... When music is wide open – everybody can drink from it, see one's face in it, find in its one's real.

Airy, almost weightless, joyful – although with a light pensive note, but without anchors of sorrow. This is not slow, heated summer – rather, fresh coolness of early spring, which is not afraid to become an attentive autumn in the course of time.

Sure, Er. J. Orchestra is one of the most interesting Ukrainian projects in the domain of ethno-fusion today. And not only Ukrainian ones. Actually, this music is so organically intertwined into the world sound fabric – it is impossible to limit it with any borders, geographic or stylistic, etc.

Still everyone who is not indifferent to the Western musical tradition in its pro-Celtic variations. Having heard this album. I think. Will not be. Frustrated.
