Er. J. Orchestra. On the Hill Again. (special CD+DVD edition).

It is really a valuable release – and the thing is, certainly, not only the price. I would not say for all music fans of the world – it is a matter of taste, certainly. But for everyone who values work by Er. J. Orchestra it is good news, a precious present. If we take the CD, the complete version of the album "On of the of Hill Again" is presented here for the first time – and that is three compositions more than in the release of 2002. You should agree that in the case when almost each piece can be justly considered a pearl, addition of three of them is cool. As for the DVD – there, sure, you also have enough pleasant surprises. It does not contain video clips in the usual understanding of this word. The first four compositions – they are, rather, a music and documentary piece, an attempt of visualizing of not even the music, but the feelings behind it. That is also true about the film "Blissful Island" (the starting point for it was prose of Olexiy Oleksandrov). The three final chapters – pictures, interviews, slides, fragments of concert performances. In other words – real rarities that you will not find anywhere else. But let us go back to music. Sure, Er. J. Orchestra is one of the most interesting Ukrainian projects in the domain of ethno-fusion today. And not only Ukrainian ones. Actually, this music is so organically intertwined into the world sound fabric – it is impossible to limit it with any borders, geographic or stylistic, etc. You should consider that if you know only the album "Gabrielius", this knowledge will not help you here. "On of the Hill Again" is no less interesting, but – different in what relates to the methods of space forming. It seems to collects quite different streams round the center – but it does not have that center in itself. The center is inside of you, the audience. A flying fish trembles in the air, and the sun sparkles on its flippers, and salty drops fall down on its shade, and all that is so quickly... fragments of your mirror are scattered all around the world – only some of them became flames of yellow candles, and others – they have hidden in corners of this globe... do not be afraid. They are waiting for you. Here.
