Mukha-tsokotukha. Pop-musical (opera-farce). (Buzzing Fly)

Among our children you can hardly find anyone who has never heard "Muha-tsokotuha" by Chukovskiy. On one hand, there are probably more such children nowadays, as generally, there appears more and more literature for them, written in Ukrainian as well. On the other hand, Chukovskiy is still a star and a luminary – so it’s pleasant to realize that henceforth his work will be performed in Ukrainian too. Actually, the work available on this disc cannot be called a translation only, even a "free translation" is not an appropriate definition. As you can read on the cover, this musical is created on the base of the mentioned fairy tale – thus, modern authors wanted to be free in their treatment of the subject. And they did their work merrily and with devotion. As a result – the main heroes have more expressive characters; their deeds are understandable, but sometimes unpredictable, etc. The general plot was not changed or complicated. At the same time, it was saturated with plenty of small, but bright details and nuances. So it’s possible that this disc will be interesting not only for children, but also for adults. At that, the adults are in with a chance of reconsidering this fairy tale; maybe they will understand it not in the way they did it in childhood...
