Seemingly, the collection with such title should contain a classical set of heroic and patriotic songs and marches. Seemingly, it should be straight as an arrow and simple as one sign. But we are lucky. This collection is like a river, which sometimes is quick and sometimes is slow, or sometimes is severe and sometimes is tender. It absorbed rain, dust, clean brooks, blood and groundwater. Still, it is possible to explain everything more clearly – just have a look at a list of performers. I. Kozlovskyi, K. Ohnevoy, “Dumka” choir, “Khreshchatyi Yar” and “Zoloti Klyuchi” ensembles, State Honour Bandurist Choir of Ukraine and others. The names speak by themselves. Moreover, don’t doubt – there are real rarities among these recordings. But the matter doesn’t concern rarities; it concerns the quality of performance, the way everything is performed, played and, finally, collected. It is done very well. It is worth listening.

Услышал две совершенно потрясающие думы про Федора безродного и на смерть казака-бандуриста. Про думы рашньше знал, але николы не чув. Сам я кубанский казак и знаю цену хорошим казачим песням, но эти думы, маю вам доложить, уникальны. Текст не весь понимаю, хочь мову добре знаю (видимо это "староукраиснкий" язык).
Може хто пидскаже, де знайты та, звычайно, послухаты инши козацки думы.

Юліано, це просто.
Всі українські народні пісні і так доступні для кожного бажаючого, чи не так? Нікому не потрібен дозвіл, аби їх знати - і навіть аби співати)
А ці альбоми є платними, бо тим, хто співає, тим, хто утримує звукотвірні, тим, хто безпосередньо записує і зводить записи, а також тим, хто ці альбоми вигадує, втілює, видає, і т.д. - всім цим людям потрібно годувати дітей. І свій кусень хліба вони, повірте, відпрацьовують сповна. Олігархи наживаються, як відомо, на дещо інших речах)

Дуже потрібною і цінною є збірка козацьких пісень і дум - разом зібрані перлини. Наголосити хочу на оригінальному виконанні
"Чорна рілля ізорана..." - ця дума більш звична у сольному виконанні Василя Жданкіна.

Exceptional! The music is inspiring. Of special note, Kozlovs’kyj, undoubtedly Ukraine’s best tenor, accompanied by a powerful bandurist chorus, probably will never be surpassed in his rendition of ZAVYSTALY KOZACHENKY. Another track OJ NA HORI TAJ ZHENCI ZHNUT is magnificent, great bandurist chorus and soloists. I just loved BAJDA. There’s a slow bandura music only introduction. As the tempo picks up, a symphony orchestra kicks in and the music gets faster and louder. Then suddenly with a brief effective banging of kettle drums, a powerful chorus bursts into an epoch song.

Значне кружало. Слухається на одному подихові, пісні випромінюють якусь первісну могутню силу і старовинний український дух нездоланної волі. Шкода, що вкладинка не містить текстів пісень. Хоча всі вони добре відомі, я так і не спромігся відшукати текст козацької молитви «Ой, Боже, Боже, зглянься на нас» у мережі.

I'm very interested in the Bandurist chorus type of music and highly recommend this disk to anyone who is also interested. Excelllent renditions of true Ukrainian traditional kozak songs. Hopefully there will be more cd's like this one available soon. My daughter plays the bandura (third generation Ukrainian) and is constantly playing this cd.

Сегодня получил на почте диск. Замечательные произведения, именно то что я искал. Абсолютно согласен с Рыжей Кисонькой - в школе не оценил по достоинству. Время наверстывать упущенное.

Очень хорошее качество записи, уникальные голоса. Козаки здесь очень часто лежат убитыми или плачут, да так, что волос дыбом становится. Многое из представленного на диске входит в обязательную школьную программу на Украине, но мне кажется, что в детстве мы не оцениваем по достоинству масштаб этих исторических драм и трагедий. Так что давайте "засядем коло чари" - может быть, немного посветлеет.
