Collection will be collection. What is this one so interesting with? It is well known that in the first place it is interesting with its content. That is, Ukrainian folk songs in general are phenomena, which are able to attract attention to themselves. Irrespective of the fact whether it is an authentic performance, or whether it is a professional one, or whether it is a modern adaptation. Because the Ukrainian language, you know, happenes to be melodious and euphonious. One can particularly feel that in Ukrainian songs. And particularly in folk ones, though not only in them. And what is this collection interesting with in the second place? It is interesting with its content. From that point of view that it contains thirty tracks – and it is twice or three times more than usually. And what is this collection interesting with in the third place? You might have already guessed by yourselves – with its content. In this connection, let’s pay our attention at the list of the performers. It includes such names as Anatoliy Solovyanenko, the trio “Marenychy”, Nina Matviyenko, the quartet “Yavir” – the way they perform these songs has become classical in its way. Well, as for the content, that’s all. Now we have to listen.

Покупаю с огромнейшим удовольствием для свадьби. Тут только не нашла любимую песню мамы "Гуцулка Ксеня", и такие перлы как "Гей наливайте повнії чари". Как хорошо что есть люди издающие подобние зборники!

Получив и послушав песни своего края, где родился, рос и получал то чем дышала твоя Родина, конечно же не оставляет равнодушным, заныла и задрожала от настальгии душа. Очень приятно, что сейчас есть возможность с любой точки земного шара, заказать и получить хотябы часточку неньки Украины. Всегда народные украинские песни звучат за любым столом и на разных мероприятиях. Молодцы создатели данного сайта.

На мой взгляд диск-сборник Украинских народных песен, на данный момент является лучшим собранием. Так как помимо настоящей классики, которая в первую очередь у слушающих ассоциируется с украинским народом, представлены и реже встречающиеся песни. К тому же подбор исполнителей осуществлен со вкусом, и многие мелодии и песни были за счет этого оживлены, вызывая сопереживание у слушающего. Дизайн диска является также важным элементом, и на этой стезе создателям-составителям, удалось превзойти многие ранее выходившие издания, особенно российские, которые представляют, что Украина это только казаки, чумаки и сало, а о специфики завораживающей природы Украины нет и духа!
Минус всегда только один - мало! Но не смотря на это данное издание заняло достойное место в моей домашней фонотеке.

Got this for my Mom and Dad. A friend had brought them the tape from the Ukraine but they couldn't play it in their car (CD only). If they're not sleeping, this CD is playing in the house. :-) Highly recommended by Ukrainian folk song singing parents.
