"The edition contains mutual correspondence of the Ukrainian public and political and cultural figures of the time of the Ukrainian nation formation and the national liberation revolution of 1917-1921 Evgen Chykalenko (1861-1929) and Andriy Nikovsky (1885-1942). In the epistolary sources, which cover the period of 1908-1921, the Ukrainian public life of Odesa and Kyiv is widely represented, the history of the daily newspaper "Rada" (1906-1914), which in 1912-14 was edited by A. Nikovsky. He thoroughly informed the publisher of the newspaper E. Chykalenko about the life connected with the publication: employees, the thematic course, own tactics of managing the newspaper, circumstances of the newspaper's closing in summer 1914. The letters also touch upon the revival of the Ukrainian daily publication in 1917 – "Nova Rada" and participation of its editor A. Nikovsky in it, specific events within development of the revolutionary process in Kyiv and in the periphery are reflected.
