"The phenomenon of the violin performance by brothers Spyrydon, Kyryl and Luka Prylypchans from Sarata village of Putylsky district of Chernivetska oblast (Bukovyna, Hutsulschyna) has been hovering over Ukraine and the world since, in the late 70s, thanks to the efforts of, still young at the time, a student of folklore Matsiyevsky, a gramophone record was issued at the famous All-Union Studio "Melody". Along with a famous tradition of Ukrainian polyphonic supporting voice singing it presented the world with as original and unknown until then a primarily syncretic principle of group instrumental sounding – the harmonic three violin playing.

The space depth and syncretic specification of this music subconsciously give you an idea that the tradition of Ukrainian Hutsul, Pokutyan and Western Podolyan, enriched with the traditional stylistics of the Baltic States, the Alps, the Tatrs and Carpathian Beskids as well as the orientalisms (which had been coming to us, according to Kwitka, not only through the Crimea but also through Europe), bore the astonishing aesthetics of highly developed violin folk professionalism."
