Contrabanda.com.ua continues plowing the pop rock field – and it again manages to do this at a high quality, deliciously, protuberantly. The new album is released in mid-winter, but its name hints at quite a spring mood – and the hint, it seems, is substantiated. If the debut work tended to "heavy blues", "Password: I Love" appears lighter, more romantic, transparent. However, it is still not the manner that has changed – one recognizes the group's sounding at once – it is the mood that has changed. It is not that the melancholy disappears completely – but the palette has become more colorful. Possibly, the point is that there are now more authors – the second album contains works by practically all participants of the group – therefore, naturally, there are now more tints. However, probably, everything lies in changes of the internal geography – only the musicians know this for sure. While another characteristic feature remains unchanged – there are songs both in Ukrainian and English (though, this time the English-language part makes up only one third of the disc). Anyway, the disc leaves a positive impression – as if you have breathed some fresh, fragrant air. And also – a light taste of the unsaid. I.e., to be continued.. By the way, "Don't You Waiting" has already become the best song of August 2009 in the "pop music" style according to the version of the American contest "Song of the Year" – http://www.songoftheyear.com/winners/2009/082009.htm

..the album is not homogeneous, it has both sadness and joy, and lightness, and twilight, and seriousness, as different expressions of the same – and beautiful – face. While there is no – fear, although words about fear still can be heard from time to time. However, everybody trying to follow his/her path honestly unavoidably reflects on that – and slender honesty can be felt in every song of the album.

It is difficult to explain this, because nothing has changed radically from outside. But somehow there is a persistent feeling that within this music there now sounds such confidence of one's own forces, ability to speak out simply, without superficial things – that it really looks like a new quality level.

It is pleasant that one step ahead was made with arrangements – "Light and Shade" sounds more voluminous, expressive, diverse. It is pleasant that Philharmonic Orchestra can be heard in the majority of the songs – and it is pleasant that this is not the only sparkle in the album. Music of the project is more and more tending to rock sounding – but remains light. And no doubt – its sounding brings pleasure.

From additional spices, most perceptible is the influence of hard-rock of the 1970-80s – but the group successfully mixes it with modern colors. Year 2007 – Nota, a.k.a. Natalia Stadnyk, graduated from school. And – released together with her group the first album "Together with You". A beautiful album, I should say – of such album even experienced ones would not be ashamed. However, probably, "adult" groups just cannot afford anything of the kind?

Äðóãèé àëüáîì ïèøåòüñÿ òàê, íiáè ïåðøîãî íå áóëî. I âñå æ ìóçèêà íà íîâié ïëàòiâöi íå òàêà "âàæêà", ÿê ó ïåðåäîñòàííié. Àëå âðàæåííÿ öiëêîì ïîçèòèâíå. Áàæàþ ìóçèêàíòàì óñïiõó ó öié íåëåãêié ïðàöi.
