Gorgisheli. Amore.

"Gorgisheli" only looks as a young group. In fact, this team stands at quite a high tower made of various stories. For example, the group used to have the name "Black September", played more rock-like music than "Gorgisheli" does now, and was known and popular not only at home, in Lviv, but also rather far beyond its borders. Or, for example, their keyboard player Oleg "John" Suk is just a legendary person at the scale of Ukrainian rock-underground. A participant of the first team of the significant (and still alive, to our joy) "Mertvy Piven", the author of the original project "Ye..." - "...but time, as a river..." (2003), participant of the no less original project by Yu.Pokalchuk - "City Lights"... Well, and so on – the tower is quite tall, the history of the group is quite long. And now, finally, the next step has been made – a new floor is built. "Gorgisheli" plays light rock today, that is high-quality pop music with rock coloring. And its quality is exactly the one that quite a lot of our modern pop-performers lack. As to me, if now Ukrainian light music began developing in this direction – very soon it would confidently compete with anyone. But now this niche is not filled in, and, obviously, it will not be filled soon. Well, that’s not bad – "Gorgisheli" have great chances to quickly become one of the most interesting current projects in the style "pop-rock". Especially – if in the future they will not forget about their attachment to not only Ukrainian culture, but also to Georgian one. There are two Georgian folk songs on the disk – you should not doubt, these are bright sparkles. And on the whole – a nice debut in the renewed quality.
