It may also happen so that you insert a disc, hear the first notes – and at once feel just warm and pleasant. You hear the notes to follow, listen to the words, listen to the second song, third – and it becomes even warmer and more pleasant. You listen on and secretly think – will these charms stay, won't they disappear because of a careless motion, inappropriate step? You wait and you are so eager that it did not disappear, and – it does not... And it is difficult to clearly define what the thing is, why exactly these songs warm you – unobtrusively, as a rain at night in summer. Maybe, this is music in which quiet lightness breathes, and that is why the line of each instrument flows easily, naturally. Even if some instrument arises only once in the album – and this is already professionalism, which can not always be found on debut discs. In fact, you would not say that arrangement of the songs is too complicated – but there lurks behind the external simplicity a sort of correct filling. Or, maybe, it is because of the singing – as though relaxed, a little bit tired, but at the same time concentrated. It does not strain, but it also keeps your attention – such voices, it seems, can be listened to during hours. Nothing pretended, nothing that would seem superfluous – you have nothing to do but to feel surprised how the young, in fact, group has acquired such ability to construct the space. But here it is, Mandarinovy Rai – real. We can only be glad, because here it is – cozy.
