Meri. Meridiany. (Meridians)

Largely speaking, the group Meri has existed for already approximately 10 years – quite long. But – largely speaking again – first real popularity came to the group only somewhere during the last year. However, the popularity has appeared loud indeed, it is now already difficult to find a place in Ukraine where they would not have heard these songs. Moreover, popularity and success have been cooperating so exactly and concertedly that at the end of March, 2007, the group Meri even traveled to Washington (USA) – not for a guided tour, of course. There the guys together with Ruslana represented Ukraine at the festival of Slavic cultures – "Slavic Spring Festival" – and the performance was successful, sure. Thus, we think, now even those who hear this name for the first time have realized: we deal with a new star in the cloudless sky of Ukrainian pop-rock. However, what is nice – participants of the group regard themselves with healthy self-irony – all clips by the group testify to such conclusion. Especially it refers to the video for the song "Kiss for Bis" – now the hottest hit by Meri. But – and this is nice again – self-irony does not interfere at all with the guys' doing their business in a high-quality, delicious way.
