In spite of that Olexander Tretyak is a teacher of playing the bandura at a music school, here he appears exceptionally as the composer and the performing singer. That is, while a bandura as such is still present on the recording, it is not always easy to notice it. On the other hand, the objective of this recording is not reproducing ancient songs or singing new songs in the old style. "Have Fun, Cossack" is an album of variety music. No more, no less. As experience shows, usually we can discover on such recordings, first, an extensive use of synthesizers in creation of the music content. With it everything is ok here – a synthesizer is used with even a greater ingenuity than it often happens. And second – the patriotic mood in the songs must be a mandatory element. Well, it is also ok here, and even better. Actually, virtually all tracks of the album could be attributed to the genre of the variety patriotic song. Thus, we have nothing more to do than to state: if among the various genres of Ukrainian music you prefer exactly variety art, you should necessarily pay attention to this disc as well.
