It is quite understandable even from the title that this is an experiment. As for me, it is an interesting experiment. So, what can you hear at this disc? It is possible to say that you can hear folk songs at it. To be exact – ceremonial songs, which present the cicle of the whole year, starting from Conjuration of spring and ending with Epiphany. Then, what does the experiment conclude in? First, in the selection of musical instruments: guitars, percussion instruments, bayan, bass, percussion, reed-pipes, doshchevyk, tably, violins, saxophones, bugle, xylophone, bamboo flute, duduk, bongos – the more I enumerate, the more interesting it is, isn’t it? As to folk music, this choice is not classical at all. The voices, which are presented in a great number here, are not usual either, especially as regards such material. Besides, the arrangement is for sure quite unexpected, too. Still, there is something to compare with – the bonus contains ten tracks with authentic singing. One might say, “to your and to ours”. As for me, I like it very much that the Ukrainian folklore has at last become a real field not only for investigations, but also for experiments.

It took about two years for this triple union to finally ripen – and, justifying all expectations, the drink has appeared really interesting and decent. You cannot gulp it in one go to forget the next instant – no, here you will want to savor, to come back repeatedly. And attractiveness of this music in that it lives on the border among absolutely different styles, takes something from each but belongs to none of them in full.

Here it is – real, serious, exact. You know, about such dicks one is both eager and reluctant to speak – they bend to one's soul with their curves so that words become almost superfluous. But it is also desirable to keep quiet about such things only eye-to-eye, in order to by all means share one's feeling, warmth, acceptance.

"Kolomyikas" by Ocheretyany Kit seem really delicious and appropriate to me. OK managed to add to them that very soft, warm aroma that was sometimes so evidently lacking – and now they sound like fresh bread...

If there is in the world such style as benevolent, smiling punk – it is exactly this case. At least, the ideological basis. Because a lot of elements are mixed in the music: clearly, punk, plus alternative, minimalism, ska, symphonic rock, blues, hardcore – and all this cuisine is lavishly seasoned with folk in virtually all possible displays.

The group offers to us radiant, expressive pictures. They masterfully implement the style eclecticism in the music line – it became the background for poetry both varied and transparent. Moreover, the whole album is penetrated with kind humor.

It smells the sun, it shines with salt, it smiles in sun burnt wrinkles. And everything here, on the disc, is so pertinent and harmonious that it is even hard to believe it, and it becomes very joyful. The song shines itself – and it shines for people

The great debut CD of this post-Kobza band. Varied fine folk-rock tunes, one this way one that way, appears successively. And last come truck19, this is really stunning and has diffrent touch even as Ukrainian music in general as long as I know. Off course this one has real duration, just 7 minutes, but sound like timelss. Calm, hypnotic, peaceful... This is a bonus truck and as I think this may has nothing to do with ceremonial terms, if so I encourage someone to put on translation of this remarkable tune borrowing "Reviews" format (sorry administrator!).
