Novyy zvuk etnichnoji Ukrajiny. (New Sound of the Ethnic Ukraine)

This collection, on the large account, is a successor of the popular series "Nova Ukrajina. The Best" – a deserved successor. Based on the title, the disc "New Sound of the Ethnic Ukraine" should comprise pieces by the performers whose creativity has a perceptible influence of the Ukrainian folklore – either in lyrics or in music. Basically, that is a sort of that – but compilers of the collection, in our opinion, still worked proceeding from a bit different principle. You will hear that yourself – not always it is possible to obviously hear the noted folklore influences in the represented compositions. It seems that they are united by a different thing – actually, two things. First – the quality of the material with which it is not embarrassing to appear in any country, at any respected festival. In the end, it is the performers included in this collection who play one of the leading roles in that the modern Ukrainian music were truly acknowledged in the world. Well, and secondly – the literal reading of the name "New Sound of the Ethnic Ukraine" will mean exactly what you will hear here: high-quality music of the Ukrainian people now sounds just like this. Not exceptionally so, sure, however. For these are, apart from the other things, also just fashionable, popular performers and compositions. Really – some of the best ones.
