For some reason I decided that first I wanted to read this book not on paper, but through the voice. And, it seems, I was right. Not in the least, possibly, because the book sounds not in performance of an actor, but in that of the author. For nobody knows better than the author which intonation must sound and where, where and which pause must keep silence – Ljubko Deresh, moreover, has appeared a good reader. Thus, he managed to breathe in life here twice: having written and having read it... I will not tell you about the content – I will only say that time spent for this book will not pass in vain. For everyone will find here – something. Bright – yes. Thoughtful – yes. Frank, deep, unexpected – yes. And a dozen more of various "yes"'s. Sometimes everything is so clear and easy – as it should be – it even gives creeps. True. The tongue refuses to call it simply young, or youth prose – because here it is different, here these borders do not work. To avoid the word "existential", we could say that Oldos Huxley or Jiddu Krishnamurti walked parallel ways – but Ljubko Deresh traces this path in his own way, here he has his own pains and illuminations, own truth and freedom. In my opinion, something similar is experienced – at least, should be experienced – by every person in this world. In another form, through other things – but necessarily. Because only so there is a chance to completely lose the sense – only so there is a chance to rediscover it. In the end, all of us are identically lonely – and hence our freedom. But, as a rule, we are afraid to acknowledge this and to know. While we are afraid – we envy, get older, suffer, bring pain and dirt. Do not love. For to be afraid – it is easier... Habitual.
