Multilingual version makes it possible to translate words from 9 languages – Ukrainian, English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Turkish, Chinese to Russian and back (except Chinese). It also gives possibility to translate directly from Ukrainian to English and back. Lingvo 11 contains 6 300 000 entries in the 113 dictionaries. You may create your own dictionaries in anylanguage.
The main keys to Lingvo's popularity are user-friendly interface and high quality dictionaries. In particular, the eleventh version of Lingvo has modern (2004-2005) dictionaries for English-Ukrainian-English translations with almost 300000 of articles and Russian-Ukrainians-Russian dictionaries with over 120000 articles in total. You may also create your own dictionaries and add other's users dictionaries presented at http://www.lingvo.ru/. Lingvo dictionary has Ukrainian, English and Russian user interfaces.
Lingvo dictionary provides different variants of translations and possible forms of use of words and word-combinations. The systems also provides a tool to word0by-word translation of sentences. Such a translation is not grammatically correct but it makes possible to understand an idea of the sentence.
There is not only Windows version of the dictionary in the box. Versions for pocket computers and smartphones are also included.
Every foreign customer who orders Lingvo dictionary at Umka web site will get special Ukrainian keyboard stickers for free. You need to have them if your keyboard does not have Ukrainian characters on it. Stickers will ease the work with the dictionary and make it possible for you to type in Ukrainian. The software to type in Ukrainian is included in the modern versions of Windows.
