(Benefice – from the French "benefice" – a theatric performance or concert, the profit from which was fully (full benefice) or partly (semi-benefice) targeted for one or a few "beneficiary" actors (minus costs of the performance). A benefice was a sort of a creative report by an outstanding actor, on the occasion of whose anniversary the festive performances were organized (Wikipedia, URL))
This is the first attempt of presenting a DVD TV version of the anniversary celebration of the outstanding modern Ukrainian theater and cinema actor – the People's Artist of Ukraine Bogdan Benyuk. The benefice took place on December, 3, 2007 on occasion of celebration of Bogdan Benyuk's 50th anniversary in the National Academic Dramatic Theater named after Ivan Franko.
The comedy "Svejk" by Jaroslav Hasek, as well as a theatrical greeting of the hero of the day became the core of the benefice.
The anniversary hero is greeted by: Anatoly Hostikoev, Myhaylo Reznikovych, Bogdan Stupka, Olexander Bystrushkin, Les Zadniprovsky, Vasyl Mazur, Yuri Lutsenko, Andriy Panin, Oleg Stalchuk, Yevgen Shah, Nazar Zadniprovsky, Mykola Kolyada, Oleg Tyagnybok, Myron Bloshchychak, Roman Rudy, Igor Rudy, Volodymyr Gdansky.

Children folklore authentic group "Daj Bozhe".

Запис спектаклю "Швейк" на цьому диску важко назвати професійним. Оператор навіть не витір відеокамеру ганчіркою, тому на екрані постійно присутнє сміття. Взагалі диск виданий якоюсь напівпрофесійною телекомпанією, тому якість на "трійку". К акторам претензій нема. Бачив "Швейка" не один раз на сцені, тому радий, що є можливість ще раз (і ще багато раз:) переглянути і вдома. Цікаво було подивитися і процедуру вітань ювіляра. Отже, ідея видання дуже цікава і навіть технічні вади не шкодять загальному враженню :)
