For those who did not know: Oleg Skrypka organized another interesting event in Kyiv – the festival "Moloda Gvadrdiya" devoted to the Ukrainian heroic song. And one of realizations of this project, apart from holding the festival, is release of a collection of, actually, those very heroic songs. It appeared that there was quite a lot of Ukrainian songs on this topic. It appeared that this was very much interesting to a lot of people. It appeared that this theme was able to inspire and induce to individual creativity. Possibly, this is one of reasons why the collection has comprised not only old songs, but also those composed by our contemporaries – the musicians who took part in the project. However, the majority is still made up by pieces known for a long time. The songs were reconsidered in the musical sense – therefore, they have appeared in an absolutely renewed, modern form. I do not know if it is good or bad, but they did not have to change the texts – they sound absolutely clear for the young generation... In any case, "Ukrainian Heroic Song" is one of the most interesting collections of the recent months. Both for the idea, and for the realization. Really, not just talented musicians have gathered here, but absolutely different ones, not resembling each other. And some of them have even sounded here in a new, unexpected way – it is not at once that one recognizes them, and this is also nice. Thus, the only thing left to us is to admit once again that Oleg Skrypka has once more hit the goal with his project – bravo!

Чесно скажу - від диску чекав більшого. Як на мене - невдалий вибір пісень. Змішані пісні повстаньскі, козацькі, і навіть здається радянска є - Мандри, "про рідний нам Донбас". Особисто мені більше сподобались "Наші партизани" Чубая. Хоча Чорна Гора і Гей же гу - пройняли. супер.

Непоганий диск, але я очікував більшого. Дійсно сподобались кілька пісень. Більшість же обробок не відповідають стилю пісні. Але це лише моя думка. Хоча за витрачені гроші не жалкую. Для мене хоч би одна нова гарна композиція варта 25 гривень. А тут я знайшов їх аж дві :)

Одна з найбільш патріотичних збірок, яка має бути в колекції кожного українця (поряд з попередньою збіркою О. Скрипки "Дух не вмирає", а також Рутенії "Неопалима купина"). Дякую всім, хто сторив цю збірку, завдяки кому вона опинилась в моєму домі.

Я вперше почув міні альбом який видавався ще на початку грудня там було лише 5 пісень. Враження від повноціного альбому є просто незабутнім. Перша пісня у ВВ є просто сила музика і слова ну забой. Всім хто цікавиться культурою своїх дідів і навіть батьків (дай боже здоровя) цей альбом передає їхні думки і мрії і страждання в ті важкі і вирішальні часи. Слава Україні! Героям Слава!

Глибока шана організаторам фестивалю і учасникам. Надзвичайна і обнадійлива подія. Навіть, не приймаючи до уваги ідейне наповнення, дуже порадувала мистецька складова. Чесно кажучи - трохи побоювався домінування ідеї над творчістю митців. Даремно! Схоже- сталося навпаки. Те, що так нам близьке, навпаки їх надихало. Особливо приємна участь молодих колективів, які звучать дуже достойно. Диск дійсно може претендувати на звання "диск року".

This CD cannot be overpraised. Out of 5 stars, I give it 10. It is a triumph
of modern Ukrainian music; historic in its aesthetic and social significance. Inspired by the classics of the 20th century's Ukrainian patriotic/heroic songbook, Ukraine's rock geniuses present a unique musical statement that is revolutionary. The CD's musical producer Oleh Skrypka is a true hero of modern Ukrainian culture. He truly deserves his recently bestowed Shevchenko prize of honor. I hope this CD sets a record for sales; its a gift for all lovers of Ukrainiian music.
