"The book accumulates one hundred authentic Christmas carols and schedrivkas recorded in Ukrainian villages during twenty years in expeditions by Vasyl and Maria Pylypchak, who represent the authentic tradition that has survived till nowadays. The song archive is released for the first time and contains a lot of not widely known and sometimes already forgotten melodies.With these songs, children from the first in Kyiv folklore ensemble of authentic singing "Tsviten" at the Ukrainian Folk Choir named after H.Veryovka grew up. Most songs from the collection were deciphered by the ensemble's leader Maria Pylypchak.
