"The book is a collection of over one hundred authentic vesnyankas recorded in Ukrainian villages during the twenty years in expeditions by Maria and Vasyl Pylypchak, which represent the authentic tradition existing till now. The song archive is released for the first time and contains plenty of hardly known and sometimes already forgotten melodies. The majority of songs in the collection were decoded by Maria Pylypchak. The artistic arrangement of the vesnyankas belongs to Olexander Gorbachuk, who was the member of permanent folklore expeditions. Together with the book, the compact disk "Vesnyankas from Different Regions of Ukraine" was released with recordings of authentic vesnyankas performed by folk singers.The publication is intended for specialists in folklore, collectors and researchers in music folklore, teachers, educators of preschool facilities, folklore bands and all fans of folk art."
