Kyiv children’s choir "Shchedryk". First National Disc.

Why does this disc have such title? Everything is easy: in the discography of "Shchedryk" choir, this is the first album virtually fully devoted to Ukrainian songs – both authors' pieces and folk ones in authors' arrangements are represented here. Well, speaking about the quality of performance – it will not be an exaggeration to say that currently this is one of the best children choral collectives in Ukraine. And it should be noted that "Shchedryk" was the winner of serious international competitions in Canada, the USA, Poland, Italy – and it triumphed brilliantly. In the end, the very fact that the choir performs abroad more frequently than in Ukraine speaks for itself. However, just listen to the recording – we think that no questions related to quality will remain. On the one hand, children's singing in general is characterized by the ability to touch the most delicate, clear strings of the soul due to sincerity, absence of pretension – just because in children not experience reveals through singing but – the sky... On the other, "Shchedryk" is not just a choir. It is the case when due to great professionalism a collective turns into a sensible and extraordinarily exact instrument, the conductor – of music.. And it is rather difficult to describe this feeling with words, it is better, indeed, – just to listen.
