Dmitry "Bobeen" Alexandrov

- Dmitry "Bobeen" Alexandrov has been remaining the best tenor-sax player in Ukraine. For years, for sure. Either in the eyes of numerous critics, musicians or listeners.
He's a founder and leader of a Skhid-Side band (Volodymyr Shabaltas (guitar), Illya Yeresko (piano), Oleksandr Lebedenko (drums), Valentyn Korniyenko (double-bass) and Dmitry Alexandrov, tenor saxophonist) which has already become fabulous in our national jazz history.
There's more than a dozen world-class jazz musicians, including Randy Brecker and Mark Soskin, who highly appraised the level of Dmitry's performing.
Besides the fact that Alexandrov has mastered his instrument in a gracious and consummate way he has proved to be a talented teacher.

Everything coincides on that spring evening – the mood, energy, mastery. And – the internal freedom of people who came together to once again create a common language... Dmitry "Bobeen" Alexandrov, Jazz Atmosphere. Time After Break.

On the one hand, there seems no be nothing superfluous – even Aleksandrov, oddly enough, has not added too much pepper, even though he knows how to do it at the level of "excellent". And on the other – the organism works so smoothly, without failures, that the entire album literary flies at one breath...

Sax kolo live. (DVD).

...saxophonists were involved into this concert – seven from among the best ones. However, the division into the best vs. the worst in this case can be only conditional and subjective – as the musicians represented works of absolutely different styles, from avant-garde to pop-jazz. Thus, the concert does not create any hierarchy, but rather offers an opportunity to find out the modern state of the art.
