Vladimir Shabaltas: guitarist, composer, arranger, teacher, music producer. 1999 - graduated from Kharkiv Conservatory (as a jazz guitarist, and orchestra director). 1995 - co-founder of the SkhidSide band - arguably the most legendary jazz band in Ukraine. 1998 - Vladimir was pronounced the hottest guitarist in Ukraine by many jazz critics. In a couple of years there were numerous articles about him in newspapers and magazines. 2003 - a teacher in Glier institute of music. 2005 - a gig with Randy Brecker and SkchidSide - one of the most resonant concerts of the year in Kyiv thet year. This time they first performed with mr. Brecker and TNMKongo (the best hip-hop band in Ukraine, later the same hit song was released by TNMK on their album). 2006 - starts to perform with Z-band of Igor Zakus's, and beign recruited to VIA gra (New Virgos) as a guitarist. The New Virgos appeared to be one of the best and successful projects in Ukraine and Russia.

VSH-Ensemble can be considered a temporary concert project, a sort of a gamble. However, in view of the quality of the music material represented here, one would like to believe that activity of the project will not be ended thereon – in the end, as they say, it is temporary things that last the longest... At all events, it seems that "Acid Menu" has succeeded for one hundred percent.

"Acid Menu" has succeeded for one hundred percent. Very dense, saturated – but at the same time also transparent, elevated music sounds here. Speaking about the performance technique – it ranges from good to just virtuoso, and that can be said about virtually each of participants of this concert.

It happened so that I did not attend this concert – and the very first two plays from the disc made me feel sorry about that. Jazz-fusion in various displays, for every participant has his own vision of this style – is really an interesting thing, especially when played well. And with that everybody coped, you would not even dare to say who on that evening sounded more poignantly.
