Truth to tell, you should have this disc close at hand even if you are not a mother who has to lull an infant. (Though these lullabies, of course, may plainly be useful to such a mother.) It is useful to have it close at hand, because a lullaby is not simply some kind of somnolent. Lullabies are some kind of sorcery. In this particular case – the Ukrainian sorcery, but there’s no people who have no motherly sorcery of their own. Listen – these are not casual words and pictures. By the highest standards, lullabies persuade an infant, teach him or her to live a happy life. And as you know, it is most likely that a happy adult life grows out of a happy childhood. By the way, as regards this, it is worthwhile reading reflections given in the booklet. There are very interesting moments there. Moreover, please note that the disc contains not only lullabies, but also comic songs, as well as some short fairy tales. So, study the future of your children.

...this album consists of real old Ukrainian lullabies, and most of them are folk ones. This is an anthology of authentic Ukrainian villiage weddinf music, dating back to the dawn of the 20th century; spanning from the Syan River to the Don, and from the regions of Pidlyashya across to the Tavrian countryside. The listener will undoubtedly be enthralled by both the music's character, as well as by its mythological fundamentals, which have been nurtured by rituals preserved over a thousand years.
