"The new novel by Anatoly Dnistrovy "Drosophila over a Kant Volume" is about a Ukrainian intellectual in the unborn state, the state when he does not know what to live for and drifts along the flow of joy and anxiety, love and despair. Realizing his unborn status, he feels unhappy. He looks forward to great changes but does not feel them approaching. Neither a love adventure, nor an intellectual quest bring him closer to the emotional balance. The author unfolds the classic story of the conflict between the eternal and the changeable, and the metaphor of the intellectual "without ground" in his novel is represented by the chaotic and unpredictable behavior of the small Drosophila living one day and consuming products of disintegration and decay, as if the scientists, who do that in the dump of other people's ideas.
