It seems that the music by Yevhen Stankovych just cannot leave one indifferent – each time when you listen to it, it captures all attention fully, absolutely, no matter which piece would sound. At all events, I cannot name a play by Yevhen Stankovych that would not touch some string inside, would not inspire thoughtfulness. Actually, one of important features of all his music lies herein – it is practically impossible to perceive it in a contemplative, alienated way. Because it carries not only the atmosphere, feeling, space – but also a certain thought, question, message. Sometimes simple and clear, but often – encoded, hidden in complicated constructions and strong (as they seem from outside) emotions. Listening to it is each time an original challenge, intense internal work. It is difficult to foresee the result of such job, for the listener becomes different every second – and, accordingly, the music also transforms, does not it? And consequently, responses change as well. However, it is possible to say confidently that never do these responses appear empty – too much of everything is invested in works by Stankovych, that is why a great number of doors ajar can be found in his music. History, legends, contemporaneity, folklore, spiritual search, cognition of humaneness, dissolutions in nature – all that is there. And each of the doors is expecting for an attentive listener...
