Pavlo Tabakov. Rizdvo dlja dvokh. (Christmas for Two)

We have already repeatedly noted that Lviv artists – when they already get ready to release albums – almost certainly release an album of Christmas songs among the first ones. This has really become a good tradition – and Pavlo Tabakov, as we can see, has not betrayed it either. And considering the fact how good his second solo album appears – it is only possible to congratulate the singer on the successful choice of the topic. It seems that not only the place where Pavlo grew up and studied contributed into it, but also his previous creative experience as a member of the band "Menestreli". Careful attitude to derivative material, interesting arrangements, general saturation of the musical component with various optional but so appropriate decorations – all of that is here. And all of that makes the album "Christmas for Two", maybe, one of the best pop-albums devoted to the theme of Christmas during the several recent years. Well, and let us not forget about the voice of Tabakov – in the end, by not chance he became once one of the most interesting discoveries of the project "Shans". With his second album, Pavlo Tabakov proves once again – here the issue is not only brilliant performance talent, but real professionalism as well. He succeeds in creating pop-music in the best sense of this word – and this is, certainly, nice.
