Danilko. Posle tebja... (After You...)

Now and here we recall the much-esteemed Verka Serdyuchka. But we recall her only in order to forget her now and here. Because she is one personality and Andriy Danylko, who has been acting this personage, is quite a different personality. And this particular album, I think, is meant to prove exactly such point of view at the state of affairs. As the saying goes, this is the play on contrast – at that the contrast really takes place. Besides, we simply have a nice album of instrumental music, in which, to tell the truth, even the titles of compositions do not oblige you to draw certain images. You see, it is only music and in it each listener will find not so many things, which the composer has painted, but the things, which are in the listener himself. May be, this is a fine art – when both an author and a spectator play the same part, that is the part of an observer. As for the canvas, in this particular case a musical one, it lives its own life, yields only to its own rhythm and its own flow. Still, Andriy Danylko’s merit is that these rhythms and flows are not schizophrenic, difficult or desperate. After all, every artist decides by himself which of his shadows to set free. Danylko sets free the spacious shadows. They look as if they were the water in autumn, dark but transparent. Here there is space for your own thoughts. And it is good.
