Dalai Lama. the sixth turtle.

Although Lviv has long already been considered the city of high-quality musicians and talented projects, not that many albums confirming that have been appearing here recently. But the world flows, changes – and one would not say that for the worse. At all events, the debut disc by the group "Dalai Lama" is a mouthful of cheerful hope indeed. Not least of all – due to diversity of the material. The eclectic nature is one of obvious signs of our time, though not always it finds its due reflection in arts. But Dalai Lama switches from alternative rock to grunge, mixes up punk and disco, changes the internal tension of trip-hop for the seeming transparency of post-rock, quotes funk inside out, just has fun with the sound – and does it confidently. Convincingly. That is – uses already known artistic means, but as a result does create the space, behind which its individual face arises. In this sense, it is rather symbolic that the cover of the album "The Sixth Turtle" contains an image of only five turtles. The sixth one is off the screen, the listener should feel, guess, free it. This is, if you wish, an optional task to check attentiveness. Though the analysis is not a mandatory condition, curiosity arises willy-nilly. And this means that the sixth turtle works...
