Well, finally a new disc by the boyan Zhyvosyl – Vasyl Lyuty – has appeared. I think that anyone who had already heard his songs before could not help waiting for something new. There is such force in his texts, and in music – live indeed – that it is almost impossible to listen indifferently, not to get penetrated with it. This time the album is already not semi-acoustic one, singing is accompanied by a lot of melodious and rhythmic lines. And so many of them are intertwined that there is the feeling of a deep and free space – now the voice is not the main but the first among the equal instruments. The impression of power and saturation arises. However, the voice of Zhyvosyl is still a separate topic to take into account. It seems to me that its truthfulness would even be able to raise empty music at the level of normal one – to say nothing about music that obviously goes from the heart... By the way, here it is possible to hear a few songs already familiar from the previous disc – and thus, to evidently make sure of qualitative changes. As to me – changes that are appropriate and interesting. Even the fact that on the album there is no, so to say, dominant influence of live instruments – does not spoil the impressions. At the same time – I know that Zhyvosyl fruitfully cooperates with young rock groups (for example, with Vognesmih). Therefore – I will keep my fingers crossed so that next time Vasyl Lyuty did gather around himself a dozen or two of like-minded people able to play with him both in the studio, and on stage. This music deserves wide scopes – undoubtedly.

Gaydamaky are one of those groups – that enjoy really loud popularity in Europe. Loud enough to engage in listening to Ukrainian music even those people who have never ever heard about Ukraine before, to say nothing about its music..

Even their texts alone would already be quite sufficient to advantageously stand out against the majority – no doubt. This, if you wish, already really looks like rock poetry. Well, and plus – actually the music. Two bright constituents perfectly merge in it. On the one hand, this is powerful rock. On the other – warm freshness arising due to participation of not quite ordinary, as for rock, instruments matters here – a pan-pipe, accordion, domra.

"Vij" is one of a few groups that really know how to keep silent. In a qualitative, saturated way. They say little, but to the point – and then silence falls down for a long time. Sometimes, it even causes cold shiver, so many various meanings are hidden there. And sometimes – everything becomes so simple, clear, clean...

If there is in the world such style as benevolent, smiling punk – it is exactly this case. At least, the ideological basis. Because a lot of elements are mixed in the music: clearly, punk, plus alternative, minimalism, ska, symphonic rock, blues, hardcore – and all this cuisine is lavishly seasoned with folk in virtually all possible displays.

The long expected has finally happened – "VV" has republished its works of the past years. Cult one – you won’t call that anything but that. The album "Muzika" is something considerably more than just a music product or some high-quality goods. This is an idea, embodiment, revolution, hope, and joy, and a thousand of things in one.

...in these texts, there are rich roots braided as one plait, and I would not risk asserting that it is exclusively Slavic. In my opinion, it is great. Well and, actually, the singing. I will say only one thing about it – I do not doubt that Vasyl Ljuty sings with his heart. Well, and, obviously, he has a sincere heart...

"Haydamaky" have surpassed themselves – in any case, they have surpassed the level, which they set with the previous album. At the same time, its main characteristic feature - drive without brakes - was not only preserved by them, but also developed. Yet, their step is not of youths, but of men.
