Ukrajins‘ki romantychni pisni. Golden Collection. (Ukrainian Romantic Songs)

The astonishing melodiousness of the Ukrainian language is a recognized fact – thus, considering this, it is no surprise that there exist a great number of Ukrainian songs that are lyrical, romantic. Rather, vice versa: any attempts to squeeze even only the best, most popular romantic songs on one disc are admittedly doomed to fail. However, it does not mean that one should not try – such a collection will in any case look interesting. You see a confirmation of that here: within the series "Golden Collection", a sort of a souvenir mini-collection has been launched – which is exactly represented by another collection "Ukrainian Romantic Songs". The discs of this mini-series stand out due to their design – you can easily differ them against the general background. Well, and speaking about the contents – consider: N. Matvienko, M. Kondratyuk, V. Mykolajchuk, quartet "Yavir", trio "Lybid'", trio of bandura-players of Ukrainian radio et al. As usual, here you will find recordings from the funds of the National Radio Company of Ukraine – and, as usual, a part of these records is rarity. On the other hand – true classics of the "golden times" of the Ukrainian variety art are represented here. Therefore, we believe, no more explanations are needed – these collections, no doubt, deserve paying attention to. Especially – if you are going to offer someone a light but interesting present.
