Svyatoslav Lunyov. Para Pacem – Para Bellum.

Don't we still find sporadically both time and inspiration for strange things and acts? Aren't we still able to at least sometimes see the world not as someone shows it to us, but such as we see it? Aren't we still capable of our own searches and conclusions, own pain and vein, own sadness and gladness? Reflections and revolutions, destructions and purifications, fear and crashes, heart and sun... This disk of the Kyiv composer Svyatoslav Lunyov is not an answer, not a panacea. It is a question, juxtaposition, collision. And – penetration, association. From outside, the album may sometimes appear rough, unfriendly, set for a dispute. But it seems to me that in reality it is fragile and defenseless. This music is as though a child who was unfairly offended by strangers, and it can start crying from despair, or it can initiate a fight. However, it can also start laughing – and, in the end, that is to what all that leads, and results in. In any case, the green sprout chops up concrete – and a person comes to purification and joy. Everyone – in his/her own way, and sometimes – already after death, but comes, in any case. However, it is not necessary at all to wait until then – there is always a choice. That is why disks like this one are needed. At all events, it seems to me that "Para Pacem – Para Bellum" by Svyatoslav Lunyov is music of purification. Not automatic – but through realization.
