Every year Mazepa Fest becomes more interesting and varied – this is obvious. It is pleasant to observe that in Ukrainian rock music there appear more and more expressive faces that are worth paying attention to. Actually, the majority of the groups represented here have already had time to not only loudly declare about themselves with their performances, but also to release a disc each (and some – two or three). The rest only prepare for releases of debuts album, but it is now already possible to say that they are a decent replenishment in our rock front. You will find here mixtures in which there are folk rock, and metal, and hardcore and ska, etc. A bit of everything, for this is alternative music – but not too heavy, that is why the collection may be also interesting for those who are not used to plunging in musical overloads. Though, studio recording, not notes from the concert are represented here – for not everyone likes concert records, and not always they exist in proper quality. Thus, meet – the young and known face of Ukrainian rock music.

Unlike condensed milk, this disc does not contain any surpluses of sugar. Rather, vice versa – the guys from Bram Stocker have once again demonstrated clearly who they are. First, they were named a punk-group, though merry. Now, emphasis has shifted a bit, therefore now Bram Stocker is considered though merry, but a punk-group.

Along with the already well-known musicians, you will hear a number of teams for which only a couple of steps are left to loud glory. It would be possible to say that not the only but one of important characteristics of this collection is a special culture within – such that results in writing ambiguous texts. Such that results in searching for not quite trodden roads in creation of music. It is not a grand total, because there are exception here as well..

We should admit, the collection has appeared to be great – it is not just pleasant and interesting to listen to. It gives multiple occasions to be proud of that Ukrainian rock music, in spite of the frequently scornful attitude on the part of mass media, still not just lives on – but becomes more and more diversified, deep, strange, high-quality.

Actually, the very fact that this collection of festival records has appeared to the light of the day is already quite a good present to all fans of live Ukrainian music. Both for those who saw and heard these performances with their own ears or eyes – and, certainly, for those who have never had a chance during 2004-2006 to visit the festival. We can say only one thing for sure – look at the list of groups – so diversified musicians sound on the disk that no music preference will, most probably, remain unsatisfied. Provided, certainly, that the tastes revolve somewhere around rock music.

As you can see, this is already the second "Red Pill" – and it is nice to mark that the number of participants is growing. You will find here both old acquaintances and the "young blood" – the meeting will be interesting. For a large part of songs represented here, this is the first official release, they have not yet had time to see the light of the day as parts of albums.

Each group here is a bright personality, expressive manner. I will not even single anyone out – in my opinion, each of them is worth our attention. Absolutely different, and differently talented – as it should be. And it is a sure fact that each will find a grateful listener.

...he is able to write real songs, that is not empty ones – it is not surprising that so many people have taken part in the given project. Thus, twenty talented, famous and not so much performers, twenty songs by "Srjabin" of different years. Twenty meetings with the clever and even rather elegant, but still punk.

The only thing that surprises – why only now? For TNMK could sure already afford the luxury of a collection of "golden hits" a few years ago. Actually, they could have got engaged in this even since they released the second album – even then there would have been enough favorite tracks for a considerable collection.

At some party where Kuzma was the anchor, the guys from the band helped him to fill in a pause by improvising a samba based on the theme of "Sleep Alone" – and it appeared good. So good that it resulted in real cooperation – and here you see a full-value album of cover versions for Skryabin's song created by musicians of Smack Band.
