Not so many groups which popularize rock’a’billi are known in Ukraine. As far as I know, "Mad Heads" is the best known group among them. It is no secret that they exceed the bounds of rock’a’billi but they still stick to the main thing – drive. They even create such atmosphere that sometimes you feel as if you were driving an old car eguipped with a new and powerful engine at a very high speed. As if you were driving along night streets, competing in speed or just for pleasure and the same drive. May be, that is all, because if music is able to excite certain associations and feelings beforehand, it says much about its quality.

Having listened to the disc one realizes that Ukraine is not as distant from Jamaica as they tell us at school and in the news. At least, some of our clouds do have similar form...

If first Mad Heads were among the brightest stars of psychobilly in the world, now Mad Heads XL are real stars of the new Ukrainian rock format. And historically it happens so that fans of Mad Heads and those of Mad Heads XL somehow intersect quite rarely. So, maybe it is worth trying?

im definately buying this when i go to ykraiina. i love this sorta relaxed yet catchy and upbeat rhythm. its great :)

This is not a style of music that I would normally listen to and not sure why i actually bought it - seemed like a good idea at the time and I was not disappoitnted. Again a mix of styles and languages, with some Ukrainina and Russian Lyrics. Top Tracks - Bruce Willis, good rocking song with great guitar rhythms reminding us that our hero Bruce is ready to save us from the terrorists! Otruta, which start with a quiet guitar and vocal part, telling us about being more cool and stylish than James Dean and then moving on to a more powerful guitar; Finally, Kozaky, which my wife said - I know that tine - when she heard it in the care (see if you recognise it) - gain a good mix of old Ukrainian sound with a rocking guitar, backed by some great humming vocals. Even if your style is not 'rocka billy' this is worth a try!
