And still "Trans-Former" – in spite of the strange but also already quite a habitual situation in the rock community, when the content often yields to the form, and the form as it is becomes lighter – remains true to itself, to its calling. In how and what this group sings about, you will not find the so currently fashionable unisex – instead, you will find absolutely honest lyricism, without any masks. In these songs, there is something from the romanticism that was widely discussed somewhere till the 1990s – and they virtually never mention it lately. Have the times really become so pragmatic? Quite possibly, but – obviously, not for all... Thus, there are no sophisticated constructions, flirting with the public, theatrical gestures here – but there is simple, and thus strong rock music. And there are the lyrics – probably, not too sophisticated, but thus no less meaningful. Because, in the end, one of the key features of "Trans-Former" has been and still is – honesty.

...their second album "The Circus of Flowers" sounds much more balanced and serious, and in many other ways different. Stylistically, it is still based on blues-rock, and even with little insertions of reggae, ska, etc, this is the same band. The Mechanical Orange remains itself.

It looks hardly possible that the name "Mehanichny Apelsyn" ("Clockwork Orange") directly relates to the oeuvre by Burgess: otherwise, it would be quite possible that the group would play a mixture of sort of glam-trash-heavy-punk – wouldn't it? Although that's not a fact. However, "Mehanichny Apelsyn" performs a different – maybe, classic – mixture: blues, rock-and-roll and big beat.

And we will hear the music that is quite rare today in Ukraine – pure rock. Clear rhythms and texts not deprived of the existential, firm guitar turns and energetic male vocal – yes. This is just the color that has been recently lacking in the variety of Ukrainian music, and it’s a pity.

Maximally simple, clear concept – the acoustic guitar plus singing. And it means that lyrics come to the first plan – and, believe me, they are worth being listened to attentively, and not once.

Not too simple, but quite light, melodious – just rock. As it should be, it has enough drive – but enough romanticism as well, that is why the album is on the whole not tense, not aggressive. Melodious and energetic songs of young people, who, it seems, are almost in love.

Kolo Hmar is a Kyiv group playing pure rock, without any superfluous stratifications. Currently, we do not have too many of such groups – however, it seems to be quite easy to explain that. Here, you need to create with the help of, so to say, simple tools complicated, voluminous pictures – that is why each of the group's participants must sound as distinctly as possible.
