I hope there’s no need to present Valeriy Marenych – everybody who knows at least something about Ukrainian folk songs knows his name. Yes, this time he performs solo, without the glorious trio. But I think this fact should not distress listeners in any way. A gentle guitar and a warm voice sound – they sound nice. Beautiful verses sound – and it turns out that by now there has existed a common air for all who are able not only to take in the warmth, but also to give it. To give it with simple and transparent words and verses composed not for the sake of literature, but simply because it is the truth, it is right. You listen to it – and suddenly you understand how much you miss such kind of songs. Suddenly you understand how many feelings of different kinds pass by your attention – because you should live more quickly, more confidently, as outstandingly as possible, making your way towards the aim that seems to be so light. But life and its aim are not somewhere there, they are right here and right now. And it is worth forgetting about time and speed at least sometimes – in order to notice, in order not to forget. In a certain sense, this album is that kind of a time-out. Out of time.

It is difficult to say what exactly he attracts with – a few factors overlap here. The songs. And the slightly husky but obviously strong, flexible voice. I was very happy to find this artist and enjoy his music. He has a remarkable voice! His music is simple and soothing as he plays his guitars, sings, and often plays his harmonica when not singing. Altogether a real treasure!

Мне казалось я знаю все песни Маренича!Оказалось я не права. Некоторые я услышала впервые. И признаюсь: я в восторге! Какие стихи,какое исполнение,какой волшебный голос! Слушать и плакать, рыдать. И...вспоминать давно заслышанную историю... Макс!!! Ты прав! Исполняемый по-польски фрагмент песни "едно ест жиче" действительно присутствует в репертуаре Червоных гитар...Я слышала,что...давно тому назад одна девушка-Полька подарила Валерию свою фотографию и...подписала её словами которые помещены в песне: Jedno jest zycie,dla mnie,dla Ciebie...

Первоклассный диск! Валерий Маренич поёт бесподобно. И в самом деле завораживает. Акустическая гитара и неподражаемый голос певца, который с чувством поёт. Поэзия, льющаяся из самого сердца. Действительно, замечательные стихи, спетые достойно. Песня "одна жизнь" по-моему присутствует в репертуаре Червонных гитар, в несколько ином варианте.

Таку музику, як на цьому диску, можна слухати безкінечно. Цікаво, що вона подобається людям різного віку. Шкода, що таких музикантів нині мало. дуже вдячна організаторам сайту, які збирають перлини української музики та поширюють її.
