Dymna Sumish. V krajini iljuziy. (In the Country of Illusions)

How many people, having first heard the songs "In the Country of Illusions" and "No", decided that they should certainly buy-listen to the new disc by Dymna Sumish? I think, more than one thousand. How many of them will be disappointed having bought-listened to this disc? I think, none – Dymna Sumish, sure, is one of the most interesting groups on the Ukrainian independent scene. Only a few can boast that from the very beginning they have their expressive own face, but Dymna Sumish – can. And – does not boast, because the bright creative manner is here a natural feature, not an invented "trick", mask. By the way, the clear individual position and maximum honesty to themselves (and consequently – to the audience) are other individual features of DS. The immediate consequence of such honesty is, by the way, the very method of recording this album – the method that has virtually not been used during a few dozens of years already: musicians were recorded in the studio through four microphones simultaneously, in the mode of a concert performance. Which, first, added to the sounding such live drive that cannot be squeezed out post factum from any "hardware" – and this is important, because grange plays not the least role in general stylistics of the group. Second – and this is extraordinarily pleasant – the album sounds expressly, strongly, concertedly. Not a single blot that would catch one's eye, would break the common flow – an excellent, saturated record. In other words, it has appeared a bit rude, rough, but at the same time – surprisingly sincere. It seems that this is exactly the result that the guys were aimed at – it is therefore possible to congratulate them. And ourselves as well, because Ukrainian music now has one real, interesting album – one more.
