S.K.A.I. S.K.A.I. Planet.

One of the most loved young groups in Ukraine, S.K.A.I., decided not to delay release of its second album too much – and was right. Because the new work not only does not yield to the debut one, but even excels it – at least, where it somehow intersects with the latter, it sounds more varied, inventive. However, there are no that many intersections of that kind. Is this, as it seems, light rock again? – yes. But not quite so, because in this music rock weighs a bit more than lightness now. Even if we take only the music element – there has already appeared a scale that beginners usually do not afford. And consequently – the palette has become richer, because absence of haste always accentuates attention to details, tints. That is why it is not that important what influences and kindling can be found here: brit-pop, post-punk and just rock, synth-pop, psychedelics, sympho-rock – there is a bit of all these here, more or less. But what is important – is that behind all that there appears an own expressive face, indeed. If earlier S.K.A.I. was recognized due to a couple of songs, now their songs will be already recognized due to the manner, their own style – it is especially true about what is partly comprised by the definition of a "ballad". Partly – because these are absolutely not those slobber that everyone has already got used to. And especially – because their expressiveness is really special. Besides, it is time to pay attention to the texts – though to not all of them. But even appearance of the line "I am infinitely pregnant with strangers' words" – already justifies a lot... And these are not the only words that are worth hearing.
