However strange, until recently only one album by Anatoliy Mokrenko has been released on CD – "Songs by Oleksander Bilash". For this reason, it is quite possible that you have not heard this voice yet. Well, listen – I think that after that you will also ask yourself why only the second, but not, say, the tenth compact by this performer has been released now. Such voice is just obliged to sound – that is a fact. The more so that Mokrenko has in his repertoire a truly enormous amount of the musical material. Over 40 opera arias, hundreds of songs and romances – to say nothing about his film roles, recordings on the radio and TV. Thus, there is a range to select from. On the disc offered to you, you will find several folk songs, while the rest are authors' works (which, however, it is also possible to refer to as folk ones already). This is a reflection of the "golden years" of the Ukrainian variety art, the songs created by I.Shamo, O.Bilash, D.Pavlychko, P.Mayboroda... The songs that hundreds of thousands of people know by heart. And not in the least, by the way – exactly due to performance by Anatoliy Mokrenko.

There is something in it, some transparent depth, which does not leave you indifferent, so that you feel that the song is performed not formally, as it happens sometimes, but it comes from inside. Fantastic voice!
A real blast from the past. I remember hearing this voice on records on my parents' record player many years ago. Beautiful music, beautifully sung. A real joy to listen to.
