Hurt Mandrivnyh Djakiv "Vertep". VirshOspivy. /digi-pack/. (PoemSongs)

A new album of Vertep shows total transformation on the background of their previous works. Though, properly speaking, it’s eclecticism again, but with a different "binding point" this time. Virshospivy were built by a principle rarely used at a full scale till now. Simple and bright: the group set to music the poetry of a two dozens of the most interesting Ukrainian modern authors, a half of poems performed by the authors themselves. Isn’t it beautiful to listen to the lyrics voiced by its creators accompanied by a nice music? The project succeeded, truly, as Vertep didn’t set themselves any limits in style, here, apparently, a light tint of jazz. He words acquired adequate and expressive sounding: songs and melo-declamations sound so naturally one can hardly imagine their lyrics in some other musical framing, unless accompanied by a complete silence. A particular relief is that although diversified the album still is and album, and not a compilation. An offspring was born yet came ripen that is worth a special thanks.
