Stelsi. Tam... (There...)

Today, Kraina Mriy is one of the largest ethno-rock festivals in Ukraine. Stelsi, as known, practices a bit different music. Nevertheless, in 2006, if I am not mistaken, Stelsi became the only electronic project invited to participate in this event – and far not for nothing. This was a good concert – and, I think, it finally convinced a lot of listeners that high-quality combination of the ethnic and electronic offers wide horizons for creativity. In the end, Stelsi quite extensively used various ethnic motives in their compositions virtually from the very beginning – in particular, both European and Oriental ones. But the album "There..." has become both a result and a new turn at the same time. First of all, the whole album is grounded exactly on Ukrainian folklore – to be more precise, on that of Western Ukraine. At that, they have used here exclusive recordings of folk music instruments, authentic singing, etc. Secondly, the electronic constituent of the music has become softer – though, it has not become less dancing one as a result. Well, and third – this is not "instrumental". Stelsi continues singing their own texts – and, we should say, one discovers more and more bright bunter there. In the combination with influences of synth-pop aesthetics – it sounds both funny, and original. It cannot but please us, because only people with a sense of humor are able to change anything...
