The Best Ukrainian Ballads.

May be, there’s no need in extra proof of the maxim, which has already been stated for many times: the Ukrainian language is very melodious and rhythmical, and it is a well-known fact that the plasticity of a language, if we speak about songs, by all means leads to the appearance of songs of a ballad type – at that, in a big quantity. So, the appearance of this collection should not surprise anyone. It is more surprising that such attempts have not been done before. It is also worth to mention that here the best Ukrainian ballads of the latest period (2002 – 2005) are presented. Other collections will present more “grown-up” songs. To crown it all, I will mention one more thing. Concerning musical styles and manner of performance. Though this is a collection of ballads, still it contains practically everything. You can easily judge by yourselves – Oleksandr Ponomaryov, Mad Heads XL, Ruslana, “Arahnofobia”, “Haydamaky”, Yu-RA, Yevhenia Vlasova, “Remont Vody”, Max Chorny and other performers – it is difficult even to imagine a more diverse list of performers. Still, strange though it may seem, all together it looks interesting – and is listened to with satisfaction.
