In general, it is strange how in those times, having no access to really high-quality equipment, Ivan Samshit managed to realize and record its, without exaggeration, brilliant experiments in the domain of synthesized music. In those times? I agree with the opinion that creativity by Ivan Samshit, both once and now, still has no competitors and analogues in Ukrainian music. Well, and the disc "Essential Shit" has comprised the best songs of the group in the period of 1989-1998 – and the restoration was so careful that a light smack of the magnetic tape has been preserved in the sounding, pleasant) This electronic indie-pop even now sounds bright, original and – actual. Strange – but that is, indeed, a fact. And, for example, the fact that the majority of the texts were written in Russian – does not affect the value and uniqueness of the phenomenon as such, this music touches deeply regardless of the performance language. Electronic romances, dances full of sense, transcendental lyrics of clearances between worlds, enchanted and warm immersion in evening snow... Ivan Samshit – strange knights of the transparent autumn of urban stones, semantic airplanes. Sometimes it seems that the very enigma of the night before the dawn speaks to us through the voice of Petro Dain...

Well, and the last thing (I'm sure that after a closer acquaintance with the disc this fact will make many of you happy) – Ivan Samshit, as Lazarus, has not died. "Smile" is, for example a song of 2007, and work on a new material is in process now. Personally I am ready (and recommend to everyone) to wait – and to receive then...
