Here is one of those rare – and thus even more pleasant – cases when every new work without exception brings joy. "Taistra Chuhaistra" is already the third (and, respectively, already the third cool)) album by the folk-band Burdon. This time, by the way, the group was not limited to discoveries in Carpathian folklore and it has interlaced them with some pearls of Balkan folklore – interlaced skillfully. In the musicians' performance, as ever, folk music and classic music education unite brightly and deliciously – as a result, a cheerful, life-giving harmony flows into our ears properly tuning our hearts as well. Burdon is able even from some rather whimsical, complicated rhythms, tempos and melodies to produce such a refined, well-balanced space that both people and clouds, and trees quite freely, naturally start dancing in it – isn't that a miracle… And nobody interferes with anyone, steps on a shade – vice versa, there is mutual complementing and filling. There is – mutual understanding. And I am not sure whether music can ever give anything more substantial than such ability of deeper, clearer, more harmonious understanding of the world around and inside. At least, personally I am for such opportunity – grateful. Today – to Burdon.
