Here it is written in blue and yellow that he, Roman Habal, is a highly skilled musician-saxophonist, a composer by vocation (otherwise he would not be able to improvise properly on the well-known themes like these ones), a lecturer at Lviv State musical college named after S. Lyudkevych – the department of “Musical Art of Variety Art” - and, at last, the chief conductor of Lviv State Circus. Not bad, isn’t it? So, you do understand what is recorded at this disc. Actually, we would not call it definitely jazz – all in all, at this disc we are most likely having a variety show option – but still there is certain part of jazz here. Because, as I have already mentioned, these are instrumental (without vocal singing) improvisations on general themes, that is, on folk songs, as well as on the songs equated with folk songs. And it is understandable quite well that the main musical instrument recorded in this album is a saxophone. It sounds quite well. In addition, such experiments are not widespread in Ukrainian variety art yet.

...during the recent two hundred years, the clarinet has been one of main voices of both folk and author music on our planet. Its ability to convey the most delicate emotional tints and states, from a hotshot scream to tender whisper, from merry laughter with sad eyes to an act of magic, from the bazaar of nightclubs to universal clarity – strikes.

It sounds as very delicate, intelligent combination of clear feelings and attentive reflections. All through the time while the disc sounds, one has the haunting feeling that the musicians realize themselves and the space around literally at every second – and are able to instantly react to its every motion, because they have inside a full degree of freedom and mastery.

...if we could hear what we say – probably, we would keep silent. But – we do speak. And what is then left for our words but for the echo of our pace? What is then left for our eyes but for memory? It is musicians of the group that said about their "SkhidSideMen" album that the world had seen pure jazz. I won't argue – as personally I had exactly the same feeling about this music. The feeling of pure, fair, simple in its wisdom – fire...

...just before one's eyes. That is, when listening to, for example, the play "Two women who have not seen each other for a long time" – you will clearly see the women, and a small square where they met, the color of their hair and temperaments, will be able to discern the voice of each of them. Such expressiveness of performance really thrills.

In skilful hands, it is capable of anything. The triptych "Bravo, Sax!" is called to prove it – and it copes with the task very convincingly. There is the whole palette. Delicately? Yes. Delicately enough to look simple. Interesting? You bet. It is a very bright release.

"The duo of H. Safonov and H. Strogan, - according to composer Stankovych, - is the highly-professional ensemble of musicians, who differ due to their rich culture, nice understanding of style and form, delicate test, capability of expression of wide imagination and emotional spectrum: from the finest lyricism to wild wide-open emotion..."

This is the feeling as if you look at a picture painted in cool tones – and suddenly you understand that it is warm, very saturated emotionally. Then the colors start creating another pattern... Actually, that is why it seems to us that this disc can become a source of significant pleasure for experienced connoisseurs as well.

The violoncello here lives a saturated live, breathes full breast, flies freely, whispers gently – a great number of colors and emotions are incarnated skillfully, exactly, elegantly. Yes – maybe, it is elegance that may be called one of main features of the album.

Violin duo – Lidia Shutko and Ostap Shutko – is a phenomenon not only in Ukrainian but in the world music life. Their brilliant virtuosity, style purity and high professionalism posses very much. But there is a nuance that adds to the playing special overtones, special charm. On the stage – mother and son.

...music in their performance sounds bright, enchanting – and intimate. They play as though for the whole world – but also as if only for you and only now. The disc includes works by people each of whom not only enriched, completed the music world – but also made a qualitative step forward, showed new vectors of development. However, probably, it is worth listening to these works as though you did not know names of the composers. Let this music itself speak about the reason, talent and beauty of this world...

Yury Shutko became the first Ukrainian spirits musician who engaged in solo concerto performances – and achieved success both in Ukraine and abroad. Due to him, the flute has become a similarly full-value solo instrument, in relation to classic music, as, for example, the violin in Ukraine.
